From the Principals Office…
September was a great start to our new session. A big Thank You goes out to those parent who took time out of their busy schedules to attend our annual “Back to School Night”. It was really nice to get together with all of you and your families.
We have many fun activities planned this month. For starters, on the 1st, your child’s teachers will show their creative Halloween spirit by participating in our annual “Haunted Halloween Door Contest” They will have two weeks to show off their creativity so let’s see who will take the prize with their spook-tacular doors. Make sure to check them all out and help us judge the winning door on Oct. 18th.
Second, we calling all Parents! We need your HELP! We need parents to design their trunks into an exciting Trunk-or-Treat Halloween Extravaganza for the children to trick or treat from. Please ask your child’s teacher for details.
Lastly, I will be out of town for my Annual Principals Conference in Vegas! Lots of learning will be going on. I will be gone the week of the 20th.
Once Halloween starts, the rest of the holidays will follow, so get ready for the ride! It’s great to see all the smiling faces when they walk in the door. Lots of laughs and giggles, let’s get ready for festive times!
Until next month….. Christy Lang, Principal

I LOVE Crafts and I just had to share this one! With Halloween around the corner, there’s a chill in the air! So here are a fun crafts that is easy, cheap and will bring that extra special touch to your Halloween shindig or gift for that special someone!
CANDY CORN POT with TREATS!
Supplies:
Acrylic Paint Yellow/Gold, White + Orange
Small terra cotta pots
Paint Brushes
All set? Let’s do this! Go ahead and mark with a pencil where you’d like your stripes to go. I painted mine free-hand; however, feel free to use painters tape to tape it off for straight lines. Now, let’s get painting! You can start at the top, bottom or middle. Whatever works best for you! You’ll want to do a couple coats. I guess, technically, you don’t have to paint the orange on, but… I like it to be consistent.
Fill treat bags with candy corn — or your favorites.
I tied mine closed with a piece of twine, then completed the look with a black bow. Total Cost: Less than $3.00. Most supplies you can get at the .99 cent stores. Yup, now it’s fabulous and inexpensive! Voila!
The perfectly sweet favor or gift for guests, friends, family and/or co-workers! ENJOY!
