Yea! Summer is here!  We are very excited that the new school year to get underway!  Classroom transitions have taken place, if you have any questions regarding your child’s move please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or contact the front office.

Although it is summer, for your child’s safety, please send your child to school in closed toed shoes, and/or shoes with a back strap!  Tennis shoes or shoes with rubber soles are best. Children can run, jump, climb, and exploring the playground safely.

Our annual, Make-Believe-TRIP is planned for the end of the month. Bring your child’s suitcase for our “plane ride” to Italy on Monday, July 27th.  Imaginary play at it’s best!

Reminders:

Medication and Sunscreen Policy Reminder

Just a friendly reminder that our medication policy states that we can only administer medicine that has been prescribed by a doctor.  We cannot administer over the counter medication without a doctor’s note with explicit instructions on how to administer it.

Regarding sunscreen, if you would like your child’s teacher to apply sunscreen throughout the summer months, please complete the “Sunscreen Authorization Form” located in the front office.  We ask that you bring your child in their own sunscreen and apply a coat of sunscreen before they come to school.  All sunscreen will be applied in the afternoon, before outdoor play.

Birthday Celebrations

We want to make your child’s birthday a special day!  Please speak with your child’s teacher, if you plan to bring in a special treat for your child to share with his/her classmates.

Simple Ideas on items, easy to share: Popsicle, Mini Muffins, Frozen Banana, Yogurt,  Fresh Fruit, Healthy Cookie, Stickers, or Bubbles (enough for each child in the class). *If you bring cupcakes, we prefer mini size with little or no frosting.

It is helpful to check with your child’s classroom and ask about food allergies.  In general, we try to avoid items with peanut butter or nuts. Thank you for your help in providing a healthy, fair, manageable birthday for your child’s celebration!
